My new BELT!

E-mail Print PDF

Yes thats right. A belt. Not sure what you all think about belts or if you even wear any, but I have always worn a belt and feel quite incomplete without one.

For the past few years I have been searching for quality belts. If you are thinking that you are getting them at Macys or any other department store, you need to think again.

Most run of the mill belts are not 100% leather. Often they have a very thin covering made of leather while the inner parts are a filler of some sort. I had gone from buying a $30-$50 belt at a department store (like Macys and the like) only to have it wear out 3 months down the line.  Not a good experience at all. Luckily I found Ross and the other discount stores so I was only paying $9.99-$14.99 for a belt. I got to the point that I was actually buying 2-3 belts at a time to reduce my needs to go belt shopping.

My quest had taken me all over. From the back streets and the big mega stores of Paris to my favorite stomping grounds, the INTERNET.. woot! Ok.. So my search went far and wide and at one point I was about to buy belt blanks from a company so I could make my own.

My issue was that I was not prepared to buy  a $150 belt sight unseen. Just couldnt bring myself to do it and then be disappointed a few months down the line when it wore out, got frayed, scratched, blemished or whatever.

Then as my search seemed to hit a brick wall where I was either going to have to make one or pony up crazy money for a belt, I found it!

http://www.bullhidebelts.com Now I am not one to get excited about stuff all the time. Only stuff that really speaks to me. I searched the site and found the belts stated they were made from only leather and no fillers. Thats a huge plus! Then the belts came in different looks/patterns and thicknesses as well as widths. This was great. Tailor made. You could even get the buckles of your choice.

I ended up with a black grooved edge belt with polished stainless steel dress buckle. This belt sells for a meager $59.99. Thats a bargain. So I filled out my order and was waiting around patiently when of course, USPS had to throw a wrench my world.

After 1.5 weeks of dealing with USPS and trying to get my package found, I had to call up Eric at BullHideBelts and let them know. They ended up putting a rush order on another belt and getting me my belt within a week. Truely awesome customer service.

So I open the box and pull out what can only be described as first rate quality. This belt shines. It looks strong. Like fling it over a makeshift zip line, grab your damsel in distress and slide away to safety while buildings crumble and explode behind you. This belt is top notch. I could still feel the power of the dead bull that sacrificed itself so my pants can stay up, my gun not feel like its pulling me down and just all out make me want to order more belts! My only dilemna, how to justify more belts when you bought one that will last years!?!

I am looking at Chestnut Grooved Edge English Bridle Leather Belt on their site and feel that may be my next purchase. It just looks so good.

This belt perfectly compliments my Saddleback Leather Briefcase I got.
