XDM Compact with Powder River Precision Ultimate Easy fit trigger

E-mail Print PDF

http://www.psychocabbage.com/gallery/albums/myguns/xdm_compact_%285%29.jpg

My latest addition: The Springfield XDM Compact in 9mm and the Powder River Precision (PRP) Ultimate Easy fit XDM Trigger Kit

Stock the gun had a 6.6lb trigger and with the mod from PRP we got it down to 4lbs and cut 1/2 of the travel off the gun as well as shorten the reset! This really does get the XDM a bit closer to being like a 1911 and I am very pleased with the results. Spring Guns and Ammo did the install for me and had it back to me the following day.

My new BELT!

E-mail Print PDF

Yes thats right. A belt. Not sure what you all think about belts or if you even wear any, but I have always worn a belt and feel quite incomplete without one.

For the past few years I have been searching for quality belts. If you are thinking that you are getting them at Macys or any other department store, you need to think again.

Most run of the mill belts are not 100% leather. Often they have a very thin covering made of leather while the inner parts are a filler of some sort. I had gone from buying a $30-$50 belt at a department store (like Macys and the like) only to have it wear out 3 months down the line.  Not a good experience at all. Luckily I found Ross and the other discount stores so I was only paying $9.99-$14.99 for a belt. I got to the point that I was actually buying 2-3 belts at a time to reduce my needs to go belt shopping.

My quest had taken me all over. From the back streets and the big mega stores of Paris to my favorite stomping grounds, the INTERNET.. woot! Ok.. So my search went far and wide and at one point I was about to buy belt blanks from a company so I could make my own.

My issue was that I was not prepared to buy  a $150 belt sight unseen. Just couldnt bring myself to do it and then be disappointed a few months down the line when it wore out, got frayed, scratched, blemished or whatever.

The New Bag...

E-mail Print PDF

So it arrived. I had to get over the trauma of spending the $. I dont often spend much money on myself. I may spend it on other things but rarely on myself. It takes a lot to justify things to myself in my mind. Even with my wife encouraging me to spend the $ I have a hard time doing it.

I just simply hate spending any money.

The Bag!

Ok, so the trauma is gone and now I have it. "It" being the Saddleback Leather Carbon Breifcase. Carbon is the color not the material.

My first thoughts? THIS THING IS SUBSTANTIAL. (ya.. those are words my mind uses..) My second thoughts? If I had to travel the world and risk my life this is the bag thats coming with me. No doubt. Its that impressive in person. The pictures do not do this thing justice. I feel they may keep their pictures somewhat subdued to keep from scaring away any potential new owners of these bags.

New Dive Vehicle Aquired

E-mail Print PDF

UPDATE!!

We have customized the DIVE TRUCK!!

Dive Truck version 1.0

Ok.. so it took us just under 1 week to secure this vehicle.
We just drove it back from the Dallas area.

Its a 2003 Z71 White Chevrolet Suburban 4X4 with a boat load of goodies already installed. I was not totally jazzed with the idea but it was a decent deal and works for our needs. It has 158K miles on it and made the trek down here without complaint.

The truck has some euro taillights, whiteout front grille, and 2 borla mufflers as part of the stuff I can live with but wish it were not on the truck.

We paid less than his $9500 asking price. Walked out of a deal last night over $500 at a dealership. So I think we got what we wanted to buy for what we wanted to pay.
